This was a custom designed Argentium silver pendant. I was asked to incorporate this unusual opal into a floral scroll work design with a 22k gold bezel and 14k gold bead accents. This opal was cut by my mother Martha Borzoni.... it's a an Andamooka matrix opal with a pocket of purple-blue crystal opal. She named it Kangaroo Island due to the brown line running through the stone that reminded her of a shoreline. Kangaroo Island is a famous and beautiful location in South Australia~[link]

This design was totally hand fabricated~ hand engraving by Mark:)

Awesome!!!
I was looking for the kangaroo before I read the statement, lol. I like the reference to a geographic location with the ties to the stone. Beautiful. You guys all make a great team:)

Ah so your jewelry talents are inherited! Just what do you give a jewelry making mom for mother's day? Must be tough! I guess time=love.
Beautiful piece. The gold brings out the shoreline reminding me of reflections of sunlight on the water. Thanx for the image.

very nice! was it cast or fabricated?
Thanks!! This design is totally hand fabricated from sheet metal, bezel wire and 14k granules. I drew out the design, made a template and pierced the Argentium base. Mark then hand engraved the detail accents and I added the gold "beads" and the 22k bezel.

I love the metalwork on this piece:)

as i see...i do some metal working myself and noticed how smooth the inside of the curves was which made me think it could have been cast...good job for it being pierced...
I actually left the inner areas rougher than usual. I usually use needle files to clean up the teeth marks from the saw. The majority of my work involves some sort of piercing... either open piercing work or the pierced overlay I use on my rings and pendants~ [link]

Thanks very much for the nice comment. Do you plan on posting photos of your jewelry here on DA?

Everytime I see your work I lust for the time when I will no longer be making work for the purposes of academia, but for myself, with all the time to make them as beautifully finished as this...

Absolutely gorgeous.

i tried that once... but i don't know which part of me it made tingle.
