This is a 25x18x4-5 mm, 22.6 carat fire agate gem from Slaughter Mountain.
This is the most recent addition to our fire agate gem collection.
This is my new personal favorite and probably one of the most beautiful gems I've ever seen. This fire agate has a fine layer of purple-pink "royal mist"... a rare quality that Mark and I had never heard of prior to this seeing this stone. The colors refract with extraordinary brightness including the "royal mist", which is a pink-purple, transparent colored chalcedony layer above the primary, opaque colors.
I think they're getting more expensive and people can make more money cutting rough into cabs rather than making beads. I know I've never personally seen many fire agate beads with good color. I wish I could find some though! I'd kill for a nice strand of good quality fire agate beads!

Thanks! We love round smooth gem beads in the 4-7mm range. We've been on the hunt for some high end sugilite beads or gem silica beads. We see faceted beads all the time and rondels quite a bit also... but round high quality beads are scarce.

I was just at one of my supplier's 2 weeks ago.....he showed me some rough that he has of Charoite, as well as some Sugilite. I am waiting for him to work on those into beads....
If there's anything good, I'll definitely let you know then!
Meanwhile, my hunt for Fire Agate beads is still on.....lol
