Gold Floral Necklace by jessa1155 Gold Floral Necklace by jessa1155
This is a shot of the centerpiece of our new three part necklace. The necklace is made up of three pierced and hand engraved sections, 2-layers of 14k gold overlay on the flowers, a fiery multi-color Andamooka Gem Matrix opal set in a 22k gold bezel, 14k gold granulation and flush set diopside accents. The opal used in this design is among my favorites cut by Mark.... it has intense fire and strong color saturation in blue, red and green. The diopside accents are some of the brightest green gems I've ever seen.

See a photo of the full necklace showing all three sections here~[link]

So this is the glowing achievement! It was healthy for me to follow the genesis of this work from the inspiration you saw in AelisLaurels piece, your W.I.P, this and finally the photo tomorrow.
Just wish I could touch it!

Oh, Hello!
Hmmm. I guess it all started with tying bits of grass around my fingers and toes when I was a little girl...My mom owned some cabbing equipment...I tried a little...I started beading about 10 years ago. A desire to make my own findings led me to wire work. Last February I was lucky enough to get in to one of Barrie Edwards' fabricating classes.
I'll always be a student. My favorite teachers are the retirees at the lapidary club. I just love them!

Thanks David! I'll be posting another photo that shows all three sections. I tried using other attachments to hold the three sections together but one small ring ended up looking the best.
Thanks so much for your support:hug:

Ooh, I don't see much of your work in gold, which makes me think; do you do much with copper?

I went through a small phase of doing coper overlay on silver when I was in my first year fabricating jewelry. A large amount of our work is commissioned and copper is something we haven't had any requests for. I do like the look of copper... especially with patinas:)

Ah, I understand. I wonder if you had some fans in the southwest, you might get copper and turquoise commissions. Any pictures of your work from your copper phase?
